The Movement 2.0

For decades Black Americans have told stories of being victimized by the hands of police officers. For decades Black Americans have conducted research, provided statistics, and created art to document our unjust experiences. Smart phones have allowed us to now capture and distribute video of the harsh realities we face. Today, we are fed up that black people can be harassed and killed with impunity. We are done waiting for the next viral video of our fellow man being slain in the streets to react to. The time is long overdue to pick up where our fallen leaders left off and continue the movement for equality.

In 1865 the 13th amendment was passed to end slavery except as punishment for crime. This loophole has ravished black communities ever since as we are policed with prejudice and disproportionately penalized by the judicial system. The 13th amendment stands as a pillar of the systemic racism that is deeply ingrained into our society. The most disgusting part about it all is that corporations today are still profiting from slave labor. Our fight begins with the getting Congress to ratify the 28th constitutional amendment to outlaw modern day slavery.
We are not anti police. We want accountability for officers who abuse their position to violate the rights of citizens and harass and murder black people which destroys the reputation of good cops every where. We want an end to our suffering that is perpetuated through systemic racism. Support the movement by signing the petition below to replace the problematic 13th amendment
