Call for Artists
Free the People
A Traveling Auditory Art Exhibit Curated by the University of Streets & Corners
In Conjunction with Granny’s Wisdom
The University of Streets & Corners invites visual artists, muralists, illustrators, and multidisciplinary creators to submit work for Free the People, a traveling auditory art exhibit exploring the collective frustrations, resilience, and voices of the people in today’s political, social, and economic climate.
This exhibit centers lived experience as truth and art as a vehicle for liberation. Artists are encouraged to confront systems, question narratives, and speak honestly about the pressures faced by everyday people while envisioning pathways toward freedom.
Theme
Free the People asks artists to interpret and express the emotional weight, resistance, hope, and unrest felt by the masses. Submissions should address themes such as systemic inequality, economic pressure, cultural identity, political fatigue, generational struggle, and the pursuit of liberation.
Artwork should prominently feature red tones, symbolizing urgency, resistance, sacrifice, and power. Artists are strongly encouraged to incorporate Granny’s Wisdom as a visual language within their work, using the lettering to hide messages, embed meaning, or encode truth beneath the surface.
Artist Opportunity
Artists selected for the exhibit will receive a no cost commercial license to use Granny’s Wisdom for future commissioned artworks. This license allows artists to legally integrate the script into commissioned client work as part of their creative practice.
In exchange, participating artists agree to submit one original artwork for inclusion in the traveling exhibit.
In addition, exhibit attendees will be encouraged to commission artwork directly from participating artists, creating ongoing opportunities for exposure, income, and creative collaboration beyond the exhibition.
